Anybody been diving in the Gulf recently?

I'm considering going out and diving this weekend in the Gulf since all the oil has "disappeared"!

Has anyone been diving in the Gulf?

If so when, where, and what was the vis.

I haven't been diving yet but I plan to this Saturday. I have been out fishing a couple times the last few weeks. The surface vis, even in close, was the best I've seen in a long time. There was been some pretty good surface current at a couple places.

I checked with Scuba Tech today and they went out last Friday and reported 30-40' vis and bottom temp of 72...........I forgot to ask where they did their dives!!!!

2 saturdays ago, east towards grayton, 30 - 40 ft vis, no signs of oil.

Went out last Saturday - had 10-15' @ Whitehill, and 40-50 at one of the reefs south of the pass.

Went out today 8/3 just did some reefs within 5 miles of the pass had 30-40' of vis.

Temps - surface 85/bottom 72

Sunday August 8: 2 dives on reefs within 5 miles of the pass - vis 20-30' water had a slightly white hue thoroughout the water column. Temp surface 85, dropped to 72 @ 30'
