View Full Version : Surgery
I'm sure Captain Rick won't mind you all knowing he is having knee surgery today. Arthroscopic I believe. Keep him in your thoughts. It is always risky when someone as old as that old codger(73) goes under the knife!

73  He told me he was 37?!?
Hope he does well. I knew it was coming up. Be sure and let us know how he's doing!
Good Luck with the surgery, Rick!
Rick, YOU'RE 73???
I guess when you've been kicking that long, your knee is bound to give out.:D
Wow Kiddo, you're amazing!:D :D :D :D
My prayers are heading your way for a speedy recovery!

Yes believe it or not, the old codger, Capt Rick has survived arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus.
However, Dr Jason Thackeray said it was "snip and tuck" there for awhile.
Thanks Spear for being so kind with your approximation of my age at 73, but like Rich said, I'm only 37. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it !)
All kidding aside, the surgery went very well and I would highly recommend Dr Jason Thackeray of Orthopaedic Associates and Sacred Heart Surgery Center in Destin.
Hopefully I should be back in the water in about 2-3 weeks.
I have camo'd my 3 mil wetsuit and I can't wait to get wet and try it out !
All the colors were carefully selected from local reef dive photos and I may be producing and selling these "Custom Camo" wetsuits after testing the prototypes. (Anyway, it looks really cool !)
Thanks to all for your prayers and thoughts during my recovery,
Capt Rick
Glad to hear you are doing okay!
Water therapy is a must. Maybe you can get your insurance company to pay for it (including the gas to get you 20 miles out in the Gulf).
