Just think a 12 foot mako shark that had Flipper in his month caught just off the beach by a boat that was cobia fishing. I truly hope that all of my Diver friends are especially careful. I'm not ready for any of you to be fish food.

Thanks for the kind thoughts Frankie! I'm sure none of us is ready to be shark food either! I guarantee you if that bad boy showed up while I had dead fish on my hip, I would get rid of the fish and get OUT of the water a.s.a.p. I've only seen 1 mako while diving. It was small but lightning fast.

I have been told by a couple different charter boat captains that Mako's are not that unusual this time of year. They are following the cobia. A 60lb cobia is a cigar minnow to a shark of that size.

Just think, if a 60lb cobia would be relatively the same as a cigar minnow, then Candy could be an appetizer, not a pleasant thought, sorry Candy.

No worries Frankie! Besides, I'm sure I'm not as inviting to a Mako as a yummy cobia. If I do go that way, make sure you show up at the service and say "She was as yummy as a cobia!" :)
