View Full Version : Joe's Bayou Steel Boat
HELP!!! I have some info and questions about the 40'+ steel boat that was sunk in Joe's Bayou. I can't find the original post and can't find a good place for this update. Who can help me?
Hi Jim,
I believe that thread was on the old forum. If you , or someone else did not save it, I'm sorry to say it is lost.
If this is concerning reef building materials, please continue this post in the reef building forum in the Members Only section or send me a pm.
Thanks!
Several months ago Spear and I both commented on the 40'+ steel boat that was sunk, on the bottom in 3-4' of water, in Joe's Bayou. Sometime in late July or early Aug that boat disappeared. Does anybody know what happened to it or where it is?
It would have made a great artificial reef but would have to have been picked up and put aboard a barge to safely make the trip out to the Gulf and deeper water. There is a possibility that it was moved by personnel from the cement plant to ensure their barges could have safe access to the moorings to unload gravel.
There are still two fiberglass boats sunk in Joe's Bayou. Although neither of these can be used for artificial reefs, it would still be interesting to know where the steel boat went. Anybody have any clues or ideas of where or who to ask the questions?
