View Full Version : Need a GOOD Yamaha mechanic
I need a competent, reliable Yamaha mechanic to do a house call to check out a problem I have with one of my motors. The mechanic previously mentioned by JFG is not reliable enough for me.
I would suggest Joe's Marine Service (850) 582-2608, email is joefish@mchsi.com .
This is not Joe's Marine Service in Destin, this is Joe Costa he has a shop over on Skipper Drive and I believe he does mobile work. I've had him do a couple of tuneups on my Yamaha and have been very impressed with his work and rates.
Thanks, I have added him to my list....in the meantime found a VERY competent and dependable guy, Mark Pesce...broad range of experience including commercial spearfishing and 100 ton Master....shows up when he says he will be there....850 261 2089.
Email Mpesce36542@yahoo.com.

Mark Pesce is new to the area but has years of experience. Jerry Sullivan put me onto him and had good things to say about him as well. Mark will show up when he says he will and he will fix your problem as well as check out the motor for any other issues. He is trying to build up a clientele. Phone: 261-2089
Email: mpesce36542@yahoo.com
Tell him George sent you!

NOticed from another post that Joe's Marine was recommended. I also had good work from him a couple of years ago and tried him this time. Left a voice mail and never got a reply. His message was from "Captain Joe" so maybe he's in the charter business now. Don't know, but would like to know if he's still in the marine motor repair business because he was pretty good. But not as good as Mark Pesce!

Where is Mark located, does he make house calls?
Yes, he makes house calls, lives somewhere in ValP...his cel number is from when he lived in Pensacola, so you have to dial the 850....it's 850 261 2089...
Frankie, you will really like him, he's also a 100 Ton Master

I will give him a call. I have just about reached my limit of "LEGENDARY EXPERIENCES".
Great recommendation with Mark Pesce -- I had a few "issues" with my 1997 Yamaha 2 stroke -
1. He showed up at my place on time.
2. Quickly fixed the problems.
3. Recommended and did some preventative maintenance.
He had to come back a second time to replace the parts that had to be ordered... as they were not available in town.... So, the work was done during the week and no weekend boating was lost. :D

Mark Pesce is currently working on my motors... so everyone just get in line! :D He is doing my annuals and replacing the throttle and shift cables on the right motor. I got his name/number from John Garland, and I echo the nice comments posted about him here. He definitely knows his way around an outboard motor, and he also knows diesels.
A quick word about Joe Costa - he's my former outboard mechanic. I have been trying to reach him for several weeks without luck. He does a good job, when you can get in touch with him. He used to work out of Nystrom's off of Skipper Ave in FWB, and I've been told he's now working out of Turn Key Marine. I've left messages for him with Turn Key and on his cell, with no response.

Try American Mobile Marine off of Racetrack, its family owned they are very reasonable and prompt.
