Statewaters closure?

Is there any word yet on when or if the state waters of the Gulf will close to fishing?

I was fishing in Rocky Bayou this evening and got checked by the FWC. I asked them about closing state waters. They told me that as of now, there are no plans to close state waters. It all depends on how much oil moves in and when.

We sure could use about a week of strong north winds!!

I am at a disadvantage, being on the river, I can't take a day off to go.

I rotate off Thursday and am hoping that I can at least fish in State Waters.

If everything else closes I suppose you, Martha and I could look for time for that fishing trip up the bay we've talked about. At least I could show you some areas that we used to fish.

There are some reefs that I've been wanting to look at thinking of catching flounder, or at least trying my hand at learning to catch flounder, seeing how I have never fished specifically for flounder without a gig in my hand.
