I finaly got my boat to idle decently. I am blowing some smoke but im attributing that to the old fuel (2 years) and amount of additives in the fuel. and now I need to get my nav lights to work my Stern light works but not the nav (same switch) yes I have checked the obvious (bulb not blown) I am getting 1 volt at the light. im assuming the wires have corroded at the switch or at a connection in line. trouble is I cant get to the back of the switch. O well ill get in touch with you Candy for my seatow membership before I get on the water and for the fuel additive.

Sounds promising. If you have any specific questions, I'm sure there is someone on here that has been there before and can help diagnose the problem.

My first guess on your light issue, if you're getting only 1 volt you at least have a circuit, I'd check for a grounding problem.

sounds like a corrosion issue... likely to the ground side

If you can get anywhere near it, spray some vinegar on the wires or onto the back of the switch....it does an awesome job of eliminating your standard copper corrosion....
