Redfish and speckled trout are two of the most sought after species in the area and will be the focus of this month’s edition of the Emerald Coast Saltwater Seminar Series on Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Hooters of Destin.
Who better to host than the professional redfish team of Sonny Granger of Gulf Breeze and Jake Matney of Panama City? Their best run of the season was a fourth-place finish in the Redfish Cup’s Kemah, Texas event and the team has one more event to crack the Top 20 overall to qualify for the September championships in Pensacola.
Granger and Matney will cover the basics of locating, targeting and landing redfish and trout as well as more in-depth topics related to tournament fishing and how to improve the size of your catch. From live bait to artificials, all aspects of fishing will be on the menu and, as always, don’t hesitate to ask questions.
